Contribute to the 2022 City Voice

With the first semester almost at an end, winter break it just around the corner. If you’re looking for ways to get involved in the school community, earn CAS hours, and compete in state and national contests, consider contributing to The City Voice!

Who?

The City Voice is a small team of passionate students from grades 7-12, committed to supporting one another through big projects and small. City Voice team members share a variety of interests, and writers, programmers, filmmakers, actors, and artists work side by side in both our written and broadcast divisions.

What?

As an IB World Paper, The City Voice looks beyond the walls of City High Middle to cover stories of national and international scope, focusing both on the most important events of the day and fun or interesting feature stories. Our weekly publication is sent out to the whole school, and every contributor has the freedom to pick their own stories and manage their own projects without worrying about deadlines or quotas.

When?

Official City Voice meetings are every Tuesday after school from 2:45-3:30, and an optional writer’s room session is also available for all City Voice members during Epic each Thursday.

Where?

A new year, a new room! The award winning City Voice can now be found on the second floor in room 213.

Why?

City Voice members can earn recognition for their work in statewide and nationwide contests, as well as meeting many of City’s CAS requirements. More importantly, writers get to spend their time covering topics they’re genuinely passionate about, and everything from science fiction to James Bond’s sneeze gets a place on the front page.
