Priscilla is R rated due to drug use and some language
The movie Priscilla is a Romance/Drama retelling the relationship between Priscilla Beaulieu and Rock n Roll icon Elvis Presley. You get to see young teenage Priscilla Beaulieu get swept into a dangerous world of stardom, music, and passion. I went into this film having no prior knowledge of Elvis and Priscilla’s lives. One of my friends was interested in the movie solely because Elvis and Priscilla’s relationship was so strange and private, so I was interested in learning about it. I ended up loving the film. The storyline was beautifully told and paid homage to both Elvis and Priscilla throughout the film.
I have always loved fashion all my life and find myself paying more and more attention to fashion in the films and tv shows that I watch as I get older. The costume designer for Priscilla was Stacey Battat, I thought she did an amazing job bringing Priscilla’s most iconic looks to life on the big screen, one of my favorites being this daisy flower crown look.
The makeup artists and hairstylists Cliona Furey and Jo-Ann MacNeil also did a phenomenal job of bringing the late 60s and early 70s beauty trends to life as well. I feel as though the director and actors made it a priority to let this film be Priscilla’s, even after everything seemed to focus on Elvis. T
This was Priscilla’s personal story and I loved that about this movie. There’s multiple sides to every story and they thought it was important for Priscilla’s to be told too. I recommend this movie to everyone even if you know nothing about it, give it a try and tell me what you think!
