What is Girl Up?

Girl Up Club is an initiative started by the UN Foundation to help support UN agencies that focus on adolescent girls. Around the world, there are chapters of Girl Up Clubs, including one here at City. The mission of Girl Up is to inspire a generation of girls to be a force for gender equality and social change. It has reached 75,000 girls through 4,000 clubs in nearly 125 countries and all 50 US states. The key issues of the club are gender equality, gender violence, education, STEM for social good, and sports. At City, we have organized the Period Product drive supporting both our City community and local Grand Rapids Charities. We also hold meetings every other Monday, where we learn about female politicians, TERFs, incarcerated women, period poverty, women in sports and more. If interested, join our Google Classroom with the code mib72ix.
