Danelo Cavalcante Apprehended

Early this Wednesday an escaped killer – by the name of Danelo Cavalcante – was apprehended by the authorities. This capture had put an end to the thirteen day manhunt that had involved numerous officers. The Pennsylvania State Police Lieutenant, George Bivens, held a news conference to inform the Philadelphia community. Cavalcante was spotted via a heat signal at around 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. He was pursed by the authorities and a K-9 dog, which had left him with a minor wound on his scalp. After that he was handcuffed and taken into police custody. Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan stated, “our nightmare is finally over, and the good guys won.”

Cavalcante’s escape from prison took place on August 31, just one week after being sentenced to life in jail. The reason for his sentence was due to the fact that he had murdered his ex-girlfriend. He had escaped in a rather unique way, like one you would find in cartoons. Cavalcante had crab-walked up the prison yard walls, and out of captivity. After his daring escape he was seen next via recording on a trail cam. Cavalcante was seen with a rucksack and a duffel bag. When the authorities reviewed this tape they realized he was out of their designated search area and decided to move it further south. Cavalcante later stole a van and shifted his appearance to further blend in. This failed to work and, as said above he was apprehended. This is still an ongoing story, so there may still be new information waiting to be uncovered.
