All About Homecoming

While this year’s Homecoming themes are fun and playful, they sure are interesting choices. First, let’s talk about spirit week: This week’s themes were College Day, Twin Day, Barbie Day, Early 2000s Fashion Day, and, finally, House Shirt Day. Personally, I understand all but two: 2000s Fashion and Barbie Day. So seniors, can you explain? This year’s homecoming theme is Fairytopia, so Barbie Day ties into that, but Early 2000s Fashion Day Is a new spirit week theme and I am excited to see what people do.

Now we can’t forget about Field Day! Friday, October 8, will be filled with fun and friendly competition. Houses will compete as a group to build bonds and compete with other houses. There will be a Kona Ice Truck, so bring your wallet for a nice cold refreshment!

That brings us to the Homecoming Dance. Highschoolers, this year’s Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, October 9, from 6-9 pm, and we can’t wait to see you in your best outfits! There will be an Ice Box and a food truck, so come hungry for dinner and desert. If you don’t know, Ice Box is a brand of delicious ice cream bars that range from $0-5. The food does cost money, so bring some if you plan on eating.

Homecoming tickets have been sold all week for $5, and will be sold at the door for $10. Guest passes are also available for $7. Visit the main office to pick one up! Homecoming week is a time to show your school spirit and have fun with your classmates. Whether that is through spirit days, field days, or the dance, I hope you have found some ways to join in and have some fun.
