Yes Day! Review

Yes Day! (movie) is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America

On Friday, March 5th, the movie “Yes Day” was released. Yes Day is a super fun movie if you need something entertaining, and cheerful. It is light hearted, funny, and it teaches a lesson about what is most important in life. It is a great movie for cuddling up on the couch to, and watching with your family. It is about a family who has a crazy adventure when the mother of the family is determined to show her kids and husband that she can be fun too! The film stars Jenifer Garner, Jenna Ortega, Édgar Ramírez, Julian Turner, Everly Carganilla, and the Pop Star H.E.R.

The movie has a 48% rotten tomatoes score, and a 5.7/10 IMDb rating. Other things you might know Jennifer Garner from are: 13 Going On 30; Love, Simon; Juno; or Miracles From Heaven. And you might know Jenna Ortega from: Stuck in The Middle; Jane The Virgin; Little Rascals; YOU; or The Fallout

In the beginning of the movie, Allison Torres comes to the realization with the help of her kids that she says “no” a lot. Before she had kids, she was a wild carefree wife that said yes to everything, but when she is told about an activity called “yes day” she decides to try it out with her kids. A “yes day” is when the parents in the family say “yes” to everything that their kids ask for, for 24 hours strait. In the movie, Allison makes a bet with her daughter Katie who wants to go to a concert. If Allison says no at any point during the 24 hours, Katie gets to go to the concert by herself, if Allison says nothing but yes, Katie has to go to the concert with her mom.

In my opinion, Yes Day was a great movie. It was fun, energetic, and silly. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a cheery movie, especially one to watch with family.
