This year’s Summer Olympics were to be held in Tokyo, Japan. The Summer Olympics dates have officially been changed from July 24th- August 9, 2020 to July 23rd- August 8th, 2021. Canada and Australia had already announced that they would not be sending athletes to participate in any games held this year, however they are now expected to compete with the change in dates. Another change coming with the change in dates is that the Winter Olympics will be held barely six months after the summer games, which is the closest they’ve been in years. The pandemic will most likely be over by the Summer games, but if not the dates may change yet again.
