2021 Meetings

City Voice meetings are every Tuesday after school from 2:41-3:30 in Room 213.

A new year, a new room! The award winning City Voice student newspaper can now be found on the second floor in room 213, meeting after school every Tuesday to discuss the breaking news of the day and craft our weekly publication. As an IB World Paper, The City Voice looks beyond the walls of City High Middle to cover stories of national and international scope, and with both written and broadcast divisions there’s something for everyone!

Writers, programmers, filmmakers, actors, and artists from grades 7-12 work together to publish a Friday newsletter for the whole school to enjoy, as well as taking part in special events like Michigan Interscholastic Press Association conferences and national contests organized by the National Scholastic Press Association.

City Voice members can earn statewide and nationwide recognition for their work, as well as meeting many of City’s CAS requirements. More importantly, writers spend their time covering topics they’re genuinely passionate about, and everything from science fiction to James Bond’s sneeze gets a place on the front page.

Want to learn more? Drop by room 213 any Tuesday afternoon to listen in on a meeting, or fill out the form below to get in touch. We’ll see you soon!
