Tips You Would Give Your Past Self

So there I was, thinking about myself. My past. The things I’ve done, the places I’ve been, and then it struck me. “What would I say to myself when I first starting going to City?” And so here, I have asked a few people at The City Voice tips and little bits of advice that they would give to themselves when they first started going to City High middle School!

“Stop procrastinating. I was and still am guilty procrastinating when I should be doing work.”

“Be open to everything, but don’t feel like you have to do everything. Sometimes it feels like all your friends do so much more than you or do everything, but you don’t have to! Just find what you enjoy and have fun!”

“Stop trying so hard. Be yourself and have fun because confidence is key.”

“I would have wanted to know how important it is to stay organized. That being said, I still have room for improvement in that category, but I feel like organization is a learning process that grows with you.”

I would have told myself to do work as it gets assigned. Work can pile up super quickly, and by procrastination you can dig yourself into a hole that’s not easy to get out of.
