Book of the Week: Renegades

Renegades is the first book in a trilogy written by Marissa Meyer. This is a book about superheroes and villains fighting for control of Gatlon City. Over the course of their fight, it can sometimes be hard to tell which side has the best interests at heart. It is definitely a book that leaves readers questioning things until the very end, and that is one of the biggest reasons why I would recommend this book! Renegades has a delightful and diverse cast of characters and themes that can relate to society today. Things like keeping leaders accountable and how to deal with power are topics touched on in the book. It is a very fun twist on the classic superhero story with each plot development adding to the ultimate question: who really has the right to lead? I would highly recommend this book (and the rest of the series) to anyone who enjoys Marvel movies as it definitely has that same sort of feel to it. I would also recommend the audiobooks for this book as the reader is very good and tells the story well! You can find this book wherever books are available online.
