Mr. Thane teaches 8th grade Biology, 9th grade EPIC, and 10th grade Chemistry. As such, students across three grades have been in his classes. This week we interviewed Mr. Thane.
Mr. Thane has taught at two different schools. The first school he taught at was the same school he graduated from, while the second is City. Mr. Thane prefers teaching Biology over Chemistry by subject, but wants his 10th grade students to know that he likes teaching high school, just not the subject. If he could teach any subject, Mr. Thane would be an Algebra II teacher. When he was at school, his favorite classes were always math and science.
As his students will already know, Mr. Thane is also a big superhero fan. His favorite superhero movie is a tie between Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and Logan, but his favorite movie overall is There Will be Blood. Mr. Thane’s favorite superhero is Spiderman, and his favorite superhero company is definitively Marvel. Mr. Thane’s favorite book is Salem’s Lot by Stephen King.
Mr. Thane has been doing a lot recently to prepare his 10th grade students for college. When asked what he thought was the number one best thing a person could do to prepare for college, he said that you should always make sure to find a college that is right for you. Whether this relates to academic courses, the location of the college, or the clubs that are available, the most important thing is to find things in the college that you value.
